We are excited for the community to join us to see the construction progress in the South Addition! While the work is not yet complete, this accomplishment, 5+ years in the making, marks Temple Sinai’s largest physical transformation since our sanctuary was built in 1961. Join us to explore the spaces as they grow and we celebrate the future of our kehillah—our holy community.
Event Schedule
5:30 pm Family Shabbat Dinner & Scavenger Hunt
Join us before the service for dinner featuring kid-friendly favs from Rocklands BBQ* and a chance to explore the South Addition with a scavenger hunt and other family activities.
6:30 pm Shabbat Service
We’ll celebrate Shabbat in our renovated Sanctuary followed by a hakafah (celebratory parade) through the building. We are excited to be accompanied in our service and parade by Bumper Jacksons, a New Orleans-style Jazz band, for a rocking service.
Special thanks to the Music Committee and Circle of Music Lovers for supporting the evening’s music.
7:30 pm Festive Oneg & Community Celebration
Join us after the service for heavy appetizers from Rocklands BBQ*, live klezmer music, schmoozing, and activities highlighting the new spaces in the South Addition including:
A text study in the new Beit Midrash (house of study) led by the clergy
A walk through Temple Sinai’s 70+ year history and future curated by the Archives Committee
A get-out-the-vote postcard writing campaign and highlighting of Temple Sinai’s social justice activities led by the Davis Center Committee
…and more!
Special thanks to the Brotherhood for bartending.
This evening is free and open to all, but your RSVP will help us plan for the right amount of food and seats!
