Candidates for Sinaites Board 2019-2020

  • Stephen Speyer I am running for Sinaites President for many reasons, but mainly I want to continue my leadership through expanding our amazing youth program. I want to take on the President role, because I love this community and want to help it shine in the coming year. Read more…

  • Gabriel Scheck I am running for Programming Vice President because I want to be able to write programs
that show people the value of youth groups. I have had an amazing experience as a part of
Sinaites and NFTY, and I want to be able to be able to continue to expand our community by
building on the programming of our events. Read more…

Aviva Teller-  I’m running for Programming Vice President because this role will allow me to make a true impact on Sinaites. Helping to plan programming for events and crafting the Sinaites vision and goals for this year will enable me to help shape and lead this community that I love so much. I know that the programming can make an event truly special, bringing everyone together for some laughs and beautiful memories. I’ve been so fortunate to make so many amazing friends through Sinaites and I want to help others to do the same. Read more…

Alyssa WestI’m running for PVP because first and foremost, I really love Sinaites. Growing up, I was very much the cliched kid who hated going to Sunday school and didn’t see the point of Judaism without belief in God. As I prepped for my Bat Mitzvah, I started to understand the parts of Judaism I loved. I knew that I felt a pull towards the Jewish community, but before Sinaites, I didn’t know how robust that connection could be. With Sinaites, I immediately felt that I had a place dedicated to the community I’d been describing for years. Most of all, I’ve decided to run for PVP because I want to be able to create programming that interacts with Jewish teens in a fun, educational and spiritual way. Read more…

  • Felicia PaulI am running for Religious and Cultural Vice President because I really love the Jewish aspect of my identity. I’ve always loved going to services and listening to all of the music and just getting absorbed in it all. I go to URJ Camp Harlam and one of the highlights of each summer is always Friday night services. Last summer I got to help lead services by singing and playing guitar and that made me feel really connected to the community. Having this position on board would give me an outlet to express my love for prayers and song and to get to share that love with all of the awesome members of Sinaites! Read more…

Liana Smolover-BordI am running for RCVP because I have a deep connection with the religious and cultural aspects of my Jewish identity. With a cantor grandfather, a practicing Jewish family, and a deep connection to temple, religion and culture are central in my life. The religion aspect of my Jewish identity has always been the part I struggled with the most. This is part of my I am interested in this position. I want to explore the religious aspects of judaism through services, songs, and text, and lead others through this exploration as well. Jewish culture is beautiful and complex, and for me has always been rooted in music. Our culture connects us to our history and to each other. Sadly, many Jewish kids know very little about their ancestral history or their religious culture outside from what they’ve learned in Hebrew school. As RCVP I would work to reconnect Sinaites teens with their culture, and would strive to provide the opportunity for students to share and celebrate their own cultural identities and family stories.  Read more…

  • Tenlea Radack– I’m running for CVP because I love Sinaites and I want everyone to be able to be aware of its programs and all the fun we have. I remember in 9th grade I wanted to go to some Sinaites events but couldn’t find the details anywhere- so it made the whole process an hassle that may have deterred me. I want to make the information about our events easily accessible for everyone. I was CVP 2018-2019 and would like to continue in the position, because I want to contribute to this family we have created so it can grow with the coming grades.  Read more…

  • Due to the advisor transition and the formidable role of hosting NFTY-MAR’s Sub-Regional Leadership event, we created two new positions in place of Social Action and Membership Vice President.  The two (2) officers will serve as the strategic planners and organizers of the October 26th event, and continue their term on Board in general roles. For more questions about this role and the transition, contact Kelly Whitehead.

Alex MetzgerI am running for Event chair. I already mesh and work incredibly well with the other candidates of Sinaites board but want to take a more focused role. Making other people feel joy is one of the greatest feelings for me. Putting in massive amounts of work collaboratively and seeing people enjoy it gives me a huge amount of satisfaction.  Read more…

Max RegardieI am running for the general board/event chair position. I think that this position is extremely important because it involves bringing more people to events and having them come back. I believe that the more people at an event, the more enjoyable it will be for everyone and I want to make that happen. I just recently went to my first NFTY event and I have started participating in Sinaites this year and I have found an amazing community that I never knew existed. My goal is to have others realize this and come to more events to grow our incredible community even more. Read more…
