Seek My Voice: Lifting Up Women’s Voices in Modern Feminist Midrash

Often, women’s voices and perspectives are absent from the core stories of our tradition. In this course, we’ll study several midrashim from a collection of modern feminist midrashim that seek to insert women’s voice where they are not and raise up women’s perspectives previously absent. In our sessions, we’ll explore texts that deal with loss, grief, longing, and community and ask, “How is our tradition different when we include more voices?”

Rabbi Avi Strausberg is the Director of National Initiatives at Hadar and is based in DC. Rabbi Strausberg was ordained at Hebrew College in Boston and also holds a Masters in Jewish Education.

This is a 3-part, in-person only class. Masks are optional at Temple Sinai and proof of vaccination is not required.
