A wonderful educational opportunity awaits all who attend weekly Torah Study on Saturday mornings, beginning at 9:15am. The classes, led by our clergy, focus on the Torah reading for the week.
February is Jewish Disability Awareness and Inclusion Month. Join us for a lay-led Kehillat Shabbat service with special guest Stephanie Slater, Social Worker, Early Interventionist and Director of Early Childhood Development and Family Support at Adas Israel's Gan HaYaled Preschool.
These lay-led services offer opportunities to chant a few verses of Torah or Haftarah in a supportive atmosphere. Participants can also sign up to deliver a d’var Torah (analysis of the weekly Torah portion) that leads to a group discussion. The temple provides lunch following services.
Learn to chant Torah and Haftarah, review, or improve your current skills in this accessible and engaging trope class taught by Cantorial Soloist Robyn Helzner. This course is for people who are comfortable reading basic Hebrew. Students will increase their vocabulary, enhance their grammar skills and put their learning into practice by engaging with Hebrew text from the Bible and the Prayer Book.
