How Far Has Israel’s de facto Annexation of the West Bank Gone: Is a Two State Solution Still Possible?
March 1, 2022 @ 7:30 pm - 8:30 pm
Since the 1967 war, Israel has been relentlessly building and expanding Jewish settlements in the West Bank to the point where there are now 500,000 settlers in 150+ settlements. While settlers and settlements enjoy the benefits of Israel citizenship rights, public safety, and supporting infrastructure, Palestinians have access to none of those rights or support, but are largely governed under the military regime of the IDF. How far has annexation gone, and does it endanger the goal of achieving a two-state solution that can afford a future of peace and justice for both peoples? What ca n we do to help?
Join us as we view and discuss a J Street-commissioned video by Israeli attorney and human rights activist Michael Sfard on the process and impact of creeping annexation. This will be followed by a discussion of the Two State Solution Act introduced in Congress by Rep. Andy Levin (D-MI).
