The Supreme Court: The Bad, the Worse, and the Ugly
Journalist Mark Joseph Stern, who covers the Supreme Court for Slate Magazine, will discuss how the Supreme Court’s right-wing majority, under the guise of judicial review, advances key Republican policies as well as its indefensible resistance to the barest ethical standards. Further, he will discuss how the majority justices tacitly encourage lawless extremism on the part of Trump’s appointees to the lower courts.
Mark Joseph Stern is a senior writer covering courts and the law for Slate Magazine. Based in Washington, DC, he has covered the U.S. Supreme Court, federal appellate and district courts, and state and local courts since 2013. He holds a JD from the Georgetown University Law Center and is a member of the Maryland Bar. Mark is the author of American Justice 2019: The Roberts Courts Arrives.
