Daytimers: Back ln the Theaters Again & Enjoying It
April 17, 2023 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm
Join the Temple Sinai DayTimers for an entertaining and informative Zoom program with two of our favorite local arts critics, Jane Horwitz and Robert Aubry Davis. This dynamic pair will tell us how the local arts scene has survived the COVID pandemic and how it has been changed. Perhaps they will share their assessment of some local theater productions as well. There will be ample opportunity for your questions and comments.
Robert Aubry Davis is a native Washingtonian. He studied literature and art history at both Duke University and American University. His broad knowledge of—and participation in—the arts make him a well-respected and visible member of the Washington area cultural community. He is the creator and host of “Millennium of Music” carried by PBS stations and broadcast of SirusXM. He has been host and moderator of WETA TV’s arts program “Around Town” since its inception in 1986.
Jane Horwitz is a theater reviewer on WETA TV’s weekly arts program, “Around Town.” For fourteen years she wrote the “Backstage” column for The Washington Post, covering the local theater scene. Her syndicated column “The Family Filmgoer” ran in the Post for 23 years. She also has written theater reviews for the Post and Washingtonian magazine. A Chicago area native, she earned her bachelor’s degree from Stanford University and a master’s degree from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism.
