Temple Sinai at 70: Honoring Our Heritage & Building Our Future
Guest Speaker: Ken Jaffe, Executive Vice President of Temple Sinai
In December of 1950, a group of seven families went in search of a new kind of Reform Jewish community that would establish a “congregation of equals” and founded their new congregation: Temple Sinai. Over 70 years later, our community has grown to 1160 families with robust schools, adult programs, music & prayer, dedication to social action, and so much more. But what does the future hold? Ken Jaffe will share the details of the ongoing Honor our Heritage Build our Future construction progress, answer questions about the state of our shared community, talk about the challenges & opportunities facing Temple Sinai, and how we can build the next 70 years of our community together.
Ken Jaffe is a former partner at Alston & Bird LLC specializing in energy. Since retiring, Ken has been involved in Temple Sinai leadership, including as the former Development Committee Chair, current Executive Vice President, Chair of both the Finance Committee and the Renovation & Expansion Committee, and will be serving as the next President of Temple Sinai. In these roles, Ken has been intimately involved in all aspects of the construction project and the temple’s finances, and what the temple will look like during his term as President, Spring 2023-Spring 2025.
