We will hear from Barak Ravid from his home in Tel-Aviv concerning the direction of the Israeli government, its impact on Israeli society, democracy and Arab-Jewish relations. Barak is a leading Israeli journalist, reporting on Israeli politics and U.S.- Israeli relations for Axios. He also reports for Israeli Channel 13 and previously covered Israeli and American politics for Haaretz. Barak served in Intelligence in the Israeli Army and graduated from Tel Aviv University studying Middle Eastern History. He is the author of “Trump’s peace: The Abraham Accords and the Reshaping of the Middle East (in Hebrew) discussed here.
Joel Rubin will also join us and focus his discussion on the impact of the Israeli government’s actions on Israel’s relationship with the American Jewish Community and the U.S. government. Joel is a Democratic strategist, national security expert, and Jewish organizational leader, including having been J Street’s founding Political Director, the Jewish Outreach Director for Bernie Sanders’ 2020 campaign, and the E.D. of the American Jewish Congress. Joel also served in the Obama Administration as a Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Legislative Affairs.
