Ensuring Access to Affordable, High-Quality Early Education in DC
Please attend this educational program co-sponsored by the DC Synagogue Initiative for Social Justice, of which Temple Sinai is a co-ordinating member, and Jews United for Justice (JUFJ) on Tuesday, June 8 at 7:30 pm. Our featured speaker is Ruqiyyah Anbar-Shaheen, chair of the Under 3 DC Coalition, which advocates to support affordable, high-quality early childhood education in DC. Given the disproportionate impact of the pandemic on lower-income, mostly Black and brown families and women, it is more important than ever for the city to allocate sufficient revenue to ensure access to affordable, high-quality child care. Learn about the roles of childcare subsidies and the Birth to 3 Law in making quality early education affordable for all families, and how you can become involved in advocating to influence DC’s budget. Please direct your questions to Michelle Engelmann (rjh500@aol.com).
