This fall, we will be launching a year-long, small group discussion of My Jewish Year: 18 Holidays, One Wondering Jew by Abigail Pogrebin. In her book, Pogregin travels through the milestones of the Jewish calendar with candor, humor, and a trove of information, capturing the arc of Jewish observance through the eyes of a relatable, wandering―and wondering―Jew. The chapters are interspersed with brief reflections from prominent rabbis and Jewish thinkers.
Temple member Carolyn Gruber will facilitate the group. The first meeting will be on Sunday, September 19th at 10:00 am via Zoom. Each session will be tied to a holiday, starting with Sukkot. Subsequent monthly meeting times and format will be decided on by the group. Space is limited to 12 participants, and we are asking participants to make a one-year commitment.
