Get Out the Vote 2020
Voter suppression is on the rise in some states. Temple Sinai’s Team GOTV 2020 has taken up the Religious Action Center’s challenge to reach voters whose voter registration has been suspended, to help make it possible for them to vote in November and to encourage everyone who is eligible to register and vote. So far, over 250 people have signed up to help. Please join us for post card writing, phone calling, or texting. Contact Carole Brand (firstname.lastname@example.org) to volunteer.
September 2020—Join the Temple Sinai’s nonpartisan GOTV Effort
Temple Sinai’s GOTV work group is partnering with the Religious Action Center (the RAC) and The Center for Common Ground’s Reclaim Our Vote Campaign, a volunteer-driven, nonpartisan voter outreach campaign to help empower voters of color and fight voter suppression, especially in the South.
Temple Sinai’s GOTV’s initial goal was to contact 5,000 voters by the end of the summer. With a volunteer cohort of over 325 adults, middle and high school students, and college-aged volunteers, we’ve already sent almost 15,000 post cards and made over 3,000 phone calls. It’s not too late to help!
