Would you like to be able to follow along in the prayer book? Would you like to know what your child is learning in Hebrew school? Have you always wondered how the Hebrew language works? It is never too late to start learning Hebrew! This class is for those who have never studied Hebrew before and for those who have had some basic exposure.
This course is for people who are comfortable reading basic Hebrew. Students will increase their vocabulary, enhance their grammar skills and put their learning into practice by engaging with Hebrew text from the Bible and the Prayer Book. This is an opportunity to strengthen your Hebrew and increase your Judaic knowledge with a cohort of enthusiastic learners.
Use your Hebrew, don’t lose your Hebrew! This class for experienced Hebrew students is primarily focused on studying Biblical and liturgical text in Hebrew. (Class is conducted in English, but the source material is Hebrew.) Text study and analysis is accompanied by opportunities to build your vocabulary and sharpen your grammar skills.
Adult B’nei Mitzvah
Thursdays 7-9pm (Includes Adult Hebrew)
Info session October 18, class begins October 25
This two year experience will provide tools to help participants build their Jewish knowledge, strengthen their Jewish identity, gain a community of learners at Sinai and expand their pathways to participation in Jewish life. If you have never had a Bar or Bat Mitzvah, or had one so long ago that its hard to remember, learn more about this opportunity. The adult B’nei Mitzvah program includes engaging Hebrew and Judaic instruction and will culminate in a festive B’nei Mitzvah service in the spring of 2020. No Hebrew knowledge is necessary to participate.
