Come and raise the roof with the help of the Washington Performing Arts Society’s Men and Women of the Gospel Choir at this year’s Shabbat Shira (Sabbath of Song) service. The acclaimed choir, directed by Stanley Thurston, has been performing inspirational gospel music in the Washington area since the early 1990s. Accompanied by piano, bass and drums, they will join us in truly celebrating Shabbat as one intergenerational community, with our minds, our hearts, and even our bodies. Our Temple Sinai adult and teen choirs will open the service and then turn it over to about 40 members of the Gospel Choir. All the choirs will then come together for a special closing to the service. Don't miss this "high-ruach" service and special festive oneg. Please note: special service time of 7:30 PM.

We are asking you to help by hosting a few (at least three) members of NFTY-MAR in your home. The job of hosting will include driving “your” NFTY-MAR members to and from events taking place at Temple Sinai. Your responsibilities will also include providing space for these teens to sleep in your home (they will bring sleeping bags and pillows) on Friday and Saturday night and providing breakfast and dinner on Saturday (all other meals will be provided as part of the events of the weekend).
