The Israel Affairs Committee will host a discussion led by Rabbi Galia Sadan, Associate Rabbi at Beit Daniel in Tel Aviv on Conversion in Israel. Rabbi Sadan runs the largest non Orthodox conversion program in Israel, teaching in Russian, Hebrew and English to non halachic Russians as well as many others who seek to partner with native born Israelis. Israelis converted by Rabbi Sadan are registered as Jews on their Israeli ID's.
Conversion is the process of an individual joining the Jewish People. In Israel today this simple story is fraught with difficulties with the Ultra Orthodox claiming that only they can convert Israelis and the Supreme Court holding that Reform and Conservative conversions are recognized by the State. Learn more about Reform conversion at Beit Daniel.
The program will be preceded by a light reception. No RSVP necessary.
