This month is one giant “shehechiyanu moment” for me. I am filled with joy, gratitude and pride to be the new senior rabbi of Temple Sinai. I am especially grateful to Rabbi Reiner and humbled to join him and the distinguished rabbis who have served in this position be-fore me: Rabbis Brickner and Lipman, may their memories be a blessing and inspiration.
At Temple Sinai, our philosophy is one dedicated to democracy, and in dealing with society at large, we are guided by the belief that all human beings are equal before God, and we stand committed to the Biblical command "Justice, justice, shall you pursue."
Temple Sinai is a Reform Jewish congregation affiliated with the Union for Reform Judaism (URJ). For over a century, the Reform movement has creatively used the best in the Jewish tradition to make the religious experience meaningful in modern life, and we at Temple Sinai view the Jewish traditions of worship and education as central to our congregation.
Sinai in Action
Rabbis Roos and Portnoy were featured in a Fox 5 story about clergy who oppose the rising tide of anti-Muslim rhetoric and violence.
PBS also covered the event and ran a story you can view here.
