PARKING  

There is a parking lot in the rear of the Temple.  If approaching from the intersection of Military Road and Nebraska Avenue in front, follow the main driveway to our parking lot.  If approaching from the rear of the building, via Nevada Ave. or Jocelyn St., the parking lot is at the top of hill near the Carnegie Institute.  Also see our School drop-off procedures (and directions below).

SHABBAT SERVICES  

For specific service schedules at Temple Sinai, please visit our Shabbat page. Generally, adult services are held on Friday evenings at 8:15 p.m. Youth services (Tot Shabbat & Shalom Shabbat) are typically scheduled for 6 p.m. on designated Fridays.

A Torah study group meets Saturday mornings at 9:15 a.m. in the Library. In addition, a participatory lay-led service (Kehillat Shabbat — the Community Shabbat) is typically held on the 1st Saturday of each month, starting at 10:30 a.m. A family service is generally scheduled for the 3rd Saturday of each month at 10 a.m.

VISION  

Our mission is to be a center for those who seek to develop and enhance their Jewish identity through ritual life, education, social action, concern for Israel, and communal involvement, with an emphasis on the enduring Jewish values expressed by the Reform Movement.

DIRECTIONS  

We are at 3100 Military Road (Mapquest | Google | Metro) near the intersection of Nebraska Ave. & Military Road, N.W.

If approaching from Virginia or Maryland:

  • Take the Capital Beltway (I-495) to Connecticut Ave.
  • Proceed south on Connecticut Ave. across East-West Highway (MD Rt. 410) and around Chevy Chase Circle at the DC/MD border.
  • Continue south on Connecticut Ave. to the third traffic light, which is Military Road.
  • Turn left onto Military Road and continue for 0.8 miles.
  • The temple is on the right side of the road, just past the intersection of Military Road and Nebraska Ave.

If approaching from within the District of Columbia:

  • Go north on Connecticut Ave. to Military Road, N.W.
  • Turn right onto Military Road and continue as shown above.

Alternatively, you may reach the Temple from the east (e.g., from 16th Street or Georgia Ave.) as follows:

  • Go west on Military Road across Utah Avenue (St. John's College High School is on the corner) and continue about three blocks.
  • The congregation is on the left, just before the intersection of Military Road & Nebraska Ave., N.W.
