I would like to thank all of you who organized, planned, attended, contributed, wrote, and reached out to make my retirement an occasion for reflection and celebration. How much I appreciate all the efforts and all the words I have read and heard.
Sherry and I were so very pleased to see many members of the congregation at the retirement service and gala. Many more congregants contributed to the Lifelong Learning Fund established in my honor or to the Temple’s Endowment Fund. And I have received so many warm letters and emails from congregants and members of the community. I believe I have written to everyone who helped with the events and acknowledged all the contributions and letters, but I also know how easy it is to miss one.
So I would like to thank all of you who organized, planned, attended, contributed, wrote, and reached out to make my retirement an occasion for reflection and celebration. How much I appreciate all the efforts and all the words I have read and heard.
My last day at Temple Sinai was June 30. We left town on July 1 to spend the holiday weekend with David in Boston. While we were there, he and Ashley Heller announced their engagement! So when people ask me “What’s new?” I am not sure where to begin!
We leave for Milan at the beginning of August. Sherry has set up a blog where we will be posting some of our reflections on our Italian experiences after September 1: www.thereliablenarrator.blogspot.com We will be back in Washington in February with many stories and look forward to rejoining the Temple community then.
